About Dallas Collins

Hi, I'm Dallas. I live with my wife and two wonderful daughters in a village just outside Bristol England called Mangotsfield. I'm a professional artist and sculptor from the RCA, I used to be an aircraft engineer by trade and then one day found art! As an artist it's hard to exlpain what the work is about, i feel you need to appreciate the form for what it is. Giving an idea, starting point or background is important, it enables the viewer to the see some of the elements within the work. Mine are engineering, the sea and my life within this world. This does not summarize the work in any way, it only gives a glimpse of the possibility of things to come! When we look into the life of things, we see a truly infinite machine. Had some very exciting news this week. I've just found out that a proposal for a large sculpture I submitted has been shortlisted for the Jerwood Sculpture Prize at Ragley Hall in Warwickshire UK! Had PV at Jerwood space, London. Next show 'Jerwood Sculpture' at BayArts Gallery in Cardiff. I'm just off to Inverness to inspect the final bronze pour for a large commission i have with Barratt Homes of Bristol called 'Ocular Gate'.

Hehe, I do Marine Bio at university, and the moment I saw this I was like "Oh my god someone's drawns a coccolithophore!" Awesome work on the detail, those plates are so complicated. Nice use of colour and well done on having enough patience to finish it haha.
