I'm new to the site - where do I start? |
 |

First of all, welcome to The
One Million Masterpiece! To get started, you first need to register
with us. Click on the 'Login / Join' button on the top bar,
and you'll be taken to the Registration Page. From here, you
can now enter your details, including your E-Mail Address, chosen
Password and Home Town. On the next page, you'll be asked to
make your donation to one of the selected charities - the minimum
donation is £3.50, but if you wish to donate more, then
feel free! |

I've registered - so what now? |
 |
 |
| |
Once registered, you'll receive
an e-mail welcoming you to the project. Keep this in a safe
place, as it will include your login details. And now - you
can start drawing your picture! As soon as registration is complete,
you'll be taken to our unique drawing tool - enabling you to
express yourself. If you wish to start right away, Click

The system says that my e-mail address is already
registered |

This could mean that you have
already registered with us. If this is the case, you can either
login from the same page, or click 'Forgotten your password?'
to retrieve your login details. If you haven't registered but
are still getting the error message, then please contact support

computer? |

Our website should work on most
computers, but to use the Drawing Software or Image Viewer,
you may need a small, free plugin. Click

I've lost my password - can I retrieve it? |

You can - just click on the 'Forgotten
your password' link on the Login page, and then enter the e-mail
address you used at registration. We'll then e-mail your details
to you straight away. |

I'm trying to login, but the system will not
accept my password |

Check that Caps Lock
isn't on, as the password is case sensitive. If you still can't
login, just click on the 'Forgotten your password' link on the
Login page, and then enter the e-mail address you used at registration.
We'll then e-mail your details to you straight away. |

sign-up? |

Unfortunetly not - but don't
worry! There are plenty of free e-mail accounts available from
top names including Hotmail,
Yahoo!
and Lycos.
Sign up for an account with them for free, then you can join
The One Million Masterpiece. |

Once you've logged in, you can
now start drawing your image. You'll be directed straight to
the drawing tool - and this is where the fun begins! To find

How do I draw a square? |
 |
 |
| |
First, you need to choose your
colour from the pallette. Remember - you can always change this
later by clicking 'Undo'. Then, select the 'Square' icon from
the 'Tools' menu on the right. Then, place the square where
you want it on the canvas, and it will begin to flash. With
your mouse, "grab" one of the corners, and pull downuntil
you have the right size square. You can now move the square
by clicking inside the square, and dragging to the desired place. |

How do I draw a circle? |

First, you need to choose your

the 'Tools' menu on the right. Then, place the circle where
you want it on the canvas, and it will begin to flash. With

How do I change the size of my brush / size? |

When drawing a line or using
the Freehand Tool, you can change the size of your brush. Simply
choose one of the squares under 'Brush' to your desired the
size - the small square is a very thin line, the large square
being a very thick line. Then, draw to your hearts content! |

What does the density bar do? |
 |
 |
| |
The density bar enables you to
create even more colours. For instance, if you draw a red square,
the red is very dark, or dense. If you adjust the Density Bar,
you can make the colour lighter or even transparent. Have a
play around! You can always start aain by clicking 'Clear All' |

What do I select from the 'Child Friendly'
menu? |
 |
 |
| |
This is to protect all of our
young contributors! If you feel that you picture is not suitable
for children, then select 'N'. This will stop the picture being
shown to anyone under the age of 16. You can always change this
later on if your image changes. |

I've made a mistake - what can I do? |
 |

| |
Don't worry - there are two options.
If you've made a mistake during this login, you can ues the
'Undo' button to re-trace your steps. However, if you wish to
change your picture completely, you can select 'Clear All' which
will give you a clear white canvas once again. PLEASE NOTE -
This is not reversible. |

What are the other images around my drawing? |
 |

These are your neighbours images
- the images that will be next to yours when the final image
is printed. You can find out more about them and there images
by clicking on the drawing. From here, you can also send them
a message and create a new friend! |

How to add your title and description |
 |
 |
| |
To add your Title and Descrption,
click the 'Add your Title and Descrption' button above the drawing
software. This gives you a change to describe your image to
the world, as well as name it. Be as creative as you wish -
give it an obvious name, or a completely personal one. Its your
choice! Then, when people view your picture, they'll also know
something about it. PLEASE NOTE - Be sure to save any work before
leaving the pages, as unsaved changes will be lost. |

This could be for a number of
reasons. To use the drawing software, your computer needs a
small plugin called Macromedia Shockwave - most modern computers
have this pre-installed, but if your doesn't, Click
Here to download it for free. You may also need an up-to-date
browser such as Internet

Can I view a snapshot of the entire Million
Masterpiece image? |

You can! Simply click the 'View
Picture' button on the top bar, and you'll be taken to the Image
Viewer. From here, you can zoom in and out, pan around the image
from side to side and up and down, and select a certain image
to view that artists profile. |

How do I zoom in and out of the image? |

Using the zoom bar, click either
the '+' to zoom in, or the '-' to zoom out. You can also use
the bar itself to go up and down. Zooming out will enable you
to see more of the overall image,
as well to see where you picture fits in. |

WHat does the magnifying glass do? |
 |
 |
| |
Clicking on the magnifying glass
enables you to choose a certain image and find out more about
its artist. To use this, click and hold down on the Magnifying
Glass, and drag this over the image you wish to view. A small
part of the artists profile will then show up on the right,
with a link to view the entire profile, or to send them a message. |

How do I move around the image? |

| |
You can move around the image
by using the four arrow buttons on the top left hand corner
of the viewer. You can either click to move a small way, or
click and hold to move along faster. Alternatively, you can
drag the image around by "grabbing" with your mouse,
and then moving around. To get back to your image, click the
'Square' in the middle on the navigation wheel. |

How do I send / receive a message from other
artists? |
 |
 |
| |
There are a number of ways to
do this. If you are in the 'Drawing Software' you can contact
your eight neighbours by clicking on their image, then clicking
the 'Send a message to this artist' link. This will send them
a message via the Million Masterpiece message system, where
they can reply to you. The other way to contact someone is using
the 'View Picture' page. From here, you can access all artists
taking part. Just click on their image, then click 'View Profile'
to send them a message. |

How do I find out more about my chosen charity... |

You can find out more by clicking
on 'My Charity' on
your account bar. This bar will show up on every page you visit,
and can be found just under the main menu at the top of the
page. Once you have visited the My Charity page, you can find
out about your charity, as well as upcoming events and campaigns,
and there are also links to outside websites. |

...and how can I donate more to them? |

If you wish to donate more money
to your chosen charity, click on 'Change My Details' on your
account bar and you'll be taken to a page displaying all of
your personal details. At the bottom, there is the option to
'Donate More!'. Click this and you'll be taken to a page enabling
you to donate. |

My personal details have changed - can I change
them online? |

You can. Simply login from the
'Login / Join' page, and then from your account bar, click the
'Change My Details' link. From here, you can change everything
from your Password to your E-Mail Address - and you can even
donate more to your charity. |

I no longer wish to receive e-mails from you.
Can I change my preference? |
 |

You can. Simply login from the
'Login / Join' page, and then from your account bar, click the
'Change My Details' link. From here, you can change your e-mail
preferences, to either add yourself to this list, or to remove.
Once removed, you will not receive any further e-mails from
The One Million Masterpiece. |

Using the Forum & Community Pages |

By clicking on the 'Community
page', you have access to the forum. From here, you can express
your views on everything from the piece of art itself, to your
very own drawing. You can also ask other users from support,
or to swap ideas. Also, clicking the the sub-menu links such
as 'Celebrities' and 'Famous Artists', you can see the rich
and famous in a new light through their drawings - and then,
discuss them in the forum! |
